The world of sports is the best reality TV show out there. There’s always a headline to address, an unpredictable result unfolding and a game being played somewhere around the globe. Nick Urias has developed a passion for capturing the essence of sporting events through various forms of media.
As a radio broadcaster, Nick believes every game has a story—one that highlights the players' journeys while delivering excitement behind the mic. As the host of a weekly sports radio show, he brings versatility, analyzing games across collegiate and professional levels while managing the pace and structure of the program. Nick has also created and managed his own podcast, where he generates content, collaborates with diverse guests and oversees distribution across multiple platforms.
Born and raised in San Jose, California, Nick grew up watching NFL Sundays and supporting local Bay Area teams. This lifestyle shaped his early ambition to pursue a career in sports. He admired the greatness of the athletes, the chess match of strategies, and the sense of community that sports foster.
A graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Radio, Television & Film, Nick became one of the primary sports broadcasters for KSJS. He brought over 60 San Jose State Athletics games to the airwaves, covering football, baseball, and men’s and women’s basketball. During his three years on-air, he also helped organize and broadcast high-stakes games and tournaments in cities like Boise, Fresno and Las Vegas.
Nick was honored with the Best Sports Broadcaster award in two different semesters at KSJS, a recognition voted on by station management and peers. His goal for every broadcast is simple: be professional, be informative and let the personality shine.
